Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Thursday, October 20 married another wife, Princess Aderonke Ademiluyi in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Princess Aderonke is now the fifth woman to be married to the first-class monarch in quick succession.
The new wife appeared in a stylish traditional outfit at her traditional wedding as she danced gracefully to meet emissaries of the Ooni.
Princess Aderonke was born to a scion of the royal family. She is the great-granddaughter of late Ooni Ajagun Ademiluyi.
The princess is also a law graduate of West London University and is reported to be the founder of Africa Fashion Week London, an annual fashion event that promotes and nurtures African and African-inspired design talent.
Princess Aderonke is also said to be a cousin to the high priestess of Olokun, Yeye Lara Fashola. Her wedding to the Ooni comes three days after his 48th birthday on October 17.
The Ooni is also linked to another woman Princess Temitope Adesegun.
The other wives of the Ooni include Mariam nee Anako, Elizabeth nee Akinmuda, Tobi nee Phillips and Ashley nee Adegoke.
Oba Ogunwusi was previously married to Adebukola Bombata in 2008, before he ascended the throne in 2015.
He also had a short-lived teenage romance with Omolara Olatunbosun who bore a child, Adeola Anuoluwapo, for him in 1994.
His marriage to Zaynab Wuraola Otiti, a Bini princess, in March 2016 failed due to irreconcilable differences.
Ooni married Naomi in October 2018. But three years later, just before Christmas, she announced her separation from the Ooni.
According to her, she did not leave the monarch because of the other women in his life but because his public image was at variance with his real self.
Their union produced a son, Prince Tadenikawo, who celebrated his first birthday in November 2021 before Naomi left the palace.
