Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has welcomed his twins, a male and female, into his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The monarch received the children on Sunday five months and two days after their birth. It was the children’s first time in the palace since their birth.

They were born by one of his wives Olori Tobiloba Ogunwusi nee Philips.

The Ooni’s private secretary Adetoyese Adewale went live on Facebook on Sunday to showcase the queen and the babies being ushered into the palace amidst drumming and dancing.

Obalufe of Ife, who is next in command to Ooni, Oba Idowu Adediwura and Lowa of Ife, the third in command to Ooni, Oba Adekola Adeyeye were seen receiving the babies from Olori Tobiloba.

The two chiefs later took the babies to the royal father where he sat.

Olori Tobi is the third of the six wives taken by the first-class monarch in 2022.

Oba Ogunwusi announced the birth of the twins on Saturday, March 16, 2024, on social media.

“To God be the glory; great things He has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba, who today birthed a prince and princess to the royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty,” he wrote.

One of his other wives, Olori Ashley, reacted to the post with the words, “Hearty congratulations to us on the throne of our forefathers, to my amazing husband, and my beautiful sister/wife for this amazing addition to our big family. May Olodumare bless our prince and princess. May Olodumare keep my sister/wife safe.”
