Organisers of the Miss Liberty Nigeria 2020 have met Women Arise for Change Initiative for a possible collaboration.
The organisers paid a working visit to the national secretariat of the Women Arise for Change Initiative in Lagos on Tuesday, where they sought the support of the president, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, for their forthcoming empowerment programme.
The programme tagged “Young African Girl (YAG)” is slated for May 17, 2020, and is aimed at promoting the rights of the female child while mobilising and enlightening them for self-reliance and social activities.
Addressing the Women Arise team, spokesperson of Miss Liberty, Kola Ojajuni, noted that the initiative is a national event which is held to celebrate established and accomplished individuals and organisations who are an inspiration to great minds.
He said: “It is an avenue to motivate our girls to be committed to enduring values of hard work, ingenuity, creativity and personal development.”
In her response, Dr Odumakin praised the efforts of the organisers to add value to the society through the Miss Liberty Nigeria initiative. “It is an avenue to discover, empower and educate the girl child,” she said.
The Miss Liberty Nigeria 2020 is a ‘beauty and brain’ initiative promoted by Tinadel’s Promotion and Award Organisation.
The programme is geared towards giving values to beauty, culture and intelligence as against the trend of promoting beauty and mediocrity only.
