Ajegunle-born musician, Oritsefemi, music executive, Ubi Franklin, and Nollywood actor, Muyiwa Ademola, have all hailed ex-Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo, on his debut for Manchester United Monday night.
Ighalo played for five minutes in the Premier League encounter with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge which ended 2-0 in favour of United.
Oritsefemi then wrote on Instagram late Monday: “First ever Nigerian 🇳🇬 to play for @manchesterunited @ighalojude dream come true 💯🔥👍.”
Ubi Franklin simply dropped Ighalo’s Instagram handle with happy emojis.
“@ighalojude 👍👍👍💪💪💪💪,” he said.
Despite being a Chelsea fan, Muyiwa Ademola said he wished Ighalo had converted a chance in the closing stages of the game, ruing two Chelsea goals ruled out by VAR.
“Despite my being a Chelsea fan💙, despite the fact that we were 2 goals down, despite the fact that those 2 goals of ours were unfairly disallowed by a referee who couldn’t check the VAR by himself before making those crucial decisions. I STILL WISHED ODION IGHALO converted the opportunity he had into a goal and stun the world! Hmmm. Blood is indeed thicker than water sha!” he said.
Ighalo, 30, becomes the first Nigerian to play for the club. In his debut, he made six touches, one successful dribble, one shot on target and 100 per cent completed passes.
