Senate Chief Whip, Orji Kalu, on Tuesday, resumed normal legislative duties at the National Assembly complex.
He arrived at exactly 9 am and exchanged pleasantries with his colleagues.
The former Abia State governor spoke with reporters on arrival.
“I just want to thank God for everything that has happened. It is the will of God. I want to urge Nigerians to keep hope alive,” he said.
Kalu was released on June 3 after over six months of incarceration at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.
He was jailed for 12 years last December following his conviction of N7.1 billion fraud.
His firm, Slok Nigeria Limited, was also implicated alongside a former Director of Finance at the Abia State Government House, Jones Udeogu.
Kalu’s conviction was, however, nullified by the Supreme Court on May 8 on the grounds that the judge who presided over the case lacked jurisdiction.
