The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the re-election of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, at the 2019 general elections.
The five-member panel ruled unanimously on Thursday that the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Emmanuel Jime, lacked merit.

It also directed the appellants to pay N150,000.
The APC and Mr Jime approached the appellate court to challenge the October 7 decision of the Benue State election tribunal which upheld the election of Mr Ortom.
They had petitioned the tribunal saying the elections were marred by irregularities and should be nullified.
Ortom, however, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the APC in the build-up to the 2019 elections.
