Jerome Torshimbe, special adviser on bureau of local government and chieftaincy affairs to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, is dead.
Mr Torshimbe died on Monday evening in an Abuja hospital three days after his 64th birthday.
It was gathered from a family source that Torshimbe had complained of fever.
He was taken to a hospital in Makurdi, Benue State capital but later transferred to Abuja.
Torshimbe had only been recently nominated by Ortom to serve as chairman of amnesty rehabilitation committee.
Also, the governor’s personal assistant on special duties Famous Adejo died last Thursday.
Ortom in a condolence message described Torshimbe as an experienced and competent administrator who added value to the government.
He said Torshimbe was very supportive to many including widows and orphans.
Ortom said concerning the late Adejo that he was a hardworking man.
He announced he would sponsor Adejo’s only son who just completed secondary education up to the university level.
