Chelsea star, Oscar, has declared his admiration for interim boss, Guus Hiddink, and says he wants the Dutchman to take over the role on a permanent basis.
Hiddink replaced Portuguese Jose Mourinho in December after a woeful title defence by the Blues which saw them drop to as low as 16th on the log.
But the Stamford Bridge side has had a change of fortune since the arrival of the former Russian coach with only one defeat.
“Based on how well Guus has been doing so far he could very well stay,” the 24-year-old stated.
“We’ve been playing very well as a team. Confidence is up and the whole club is happy at the moment. Since he’s a popular figure, there’s a good chance he’ll stay.”
Oscar has seen his form improve since the coming of the Dutchman scoring four goals including a hat-trick against MK Dons in the FA Cup.
And the Brazilian playmaker attributes his recent exploits to the 61-year-old who he described as a “nice guy”.
“He’s a very nice guy, very smiley and always looking to create a positive and happy environment.
“He has a very positive influence here and we’ve been playing well. We’ve had a lot of draws in that time but overall, in the Premier League, things have been going a lot better and it has given a huge boost of confidence to all the players.
“And also for me on a personal level because I’m playing much better. He said all the things we wanted to hear as players which was to get back to winning ways and playing much better football like we were doing so last season.”
