Oscar has thanked Chelsea after confirmation that he will be joining Shanghai SIPG for a fee estimated at £60m in the January transfer window.
“I want to thank Chelsea FC the owner and all the employees who have made my time at the club so special,” the 25-year-old told his followers on Instagram.
Oscar joined Chelsea from Internacional for £25m in 2012 and has won the Premier League, Europa League and League Cup during his four-and-a-half-year spell at Stamford Bridge.
“You will always have a special place in my heart,” he told fans of the club.
Oscar, who has struggled to get into Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side since October, will join former Blues boss, Andre Villas-Boas, in Shanghai.
The Chinese Super League side confirmed Oscar “will arrive in Shanghai in the coming days to officially join SIPG”.
Chelsea said in a statement on Thursday morning: “Chelsea Football Club and Shanghai SIPG have agreed terms for the permanent transfer of Oscar.
“The 25-year-old will join the Chinese Super League team at the beginning of the January transfer window.
“He has been a Chelsea player for four-and-a-half years, helping us lift the Premier League, League Cup and Europa League as well as scooping two Chelsea Goal of the Season awards after stunning strikes against Juventus in 2012, on his full debut, and QPR in 2014.
“Skillful and tenacious, Oscar has been highly regarded by fans, players and staff during his time as a Blue, scoring 38 times from 203 Chelsea appearances.”
