Ex-Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has knocked critics of Victor Osimhen following the latter’s inability to seal a move away from Napoli.
Osimhen faces an uncertain future in Italy after missing out on transfers to either Chelsea or Saudi side Al-Ahli.
He was unable to seal a move to West London on Deadline Day while Al-Ahli opted for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
Napoli manager Antonio Conte has repeatedly said the Nigerian is not in his plan having signed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
The situation led to mixed reactions on the internet, with many criticising Osimhen.
However, Ighalo wrote on X on Sunday morning that he was disappointed with the critics.
“No human being is perfect and we have all made mistakes in life.
“But seeing comments about this young man from his own country people makes me really sad, without even knowing what happened.
“I spoke to him and I can feel the pain in his voice, the way he’s been treated, this young man play with heart and pains for his country.
“Hmmm it’s well, he will definitely be back stronger, we learn everyday in life,” he wrote.
