Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday led a team on a condolence visit to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Abiodun family house in Iperu following the death of the governor’s father Emmanuel Abiodun.
The team included Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila and Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Osinbajo represented President Muhammadu Buhari during the visit.
Commenting on the visit in an Instagram post, Mr Abiodun wrote, “President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR was ably represented by the Vice President, @profosinbajo on a condolence visit to our Iperu family home on the passing of Dad.
“President Buhari’s tribute hinged on the Dad’s progressive stance not only on education but also on politics and everything that defined life.
“The esteemed team was complete with the Speaker, House of Representatives, @speakergbaja and the Ondo State Governor, @rotimiaketi
“The memory of Dad was further blessed with soothing remarks from the dignitaries who emphasised that the life of legacies he lived supercede the more years we could have wished for.”
The funeral of the governor’s father will hold from Monday, September 6 to Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ekiti State counterpart Kayode Fayemi have also paid the Abiodun family condolence visits.
