Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday presided over the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
In attendance were the Chief of Army Staff, Turkur Buratai; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice-Marshall Sadiq Abubakar; Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major-General. Babagana Monguno (Rtd).
The presence of services chiefs, the NSA and IGP suggests that security may be top on the agenda being discussed at the Thursday meeting.
Also in attendance were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
Some state governors also attended the meeting.
They included Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos, Willie Obiano (Anambra), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), David Umahi (Ebonyi), Abubakar Bello (Niger) and Godwin Obaseki (Edo).
Others were Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara, Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Aminu Masari (Katsina) and Simon Lalong (Plateau).
