Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda to join other world leaders and top dignitaries to participate in the ceremonies marking 25th national commemoration of the Rwandan genocide.
In a statement on Sunday in Abuja, spokesperson of the Vice President, Laolu Akande said Osinbajo is attending the ceremonies as a special guest.
Some of the activities lined up for the event include the Kigali genocide memorial and the wreaths-laying ceremony.
Rwandan President will also light up a flame to signify the new path of peace that the nation has followed and enjoyed for 25 years.
Several hundreds of thousands were killed when Hutu extremist-led government launched attacks on the Tutsi on April 7, 1994.
In 2003, the United Nations General Assembly officially proclaimed April 7 the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
Osinbajo is expected back in Nigeria on Sunday (today).
