Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday released a photo of himself, wife Dolapo and medical personnel at Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos where he had a surgery on his right femur (thigh bone).
The number two citizen had a successful surgery at the hospital on July 16.
Prof Osinbajo released the photo on social media, thanking the management of Duchess International Hospital.
He said, “My deep gratitude to everyone for your get-well wishes and prayers following my surgery.
“And special appreciation to the amazing team of surgeons, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and the management of the Duchess International Hospital Lagos, for providing such excellent care. God bless you all.”
The Nation gathered that Osinbajo was discharged on Sunday, nine days after surgery.
The hospital said on July 20 that Osinbajo was “receiving physiotherapy and mobilising quite well on crutches.”
“Following a successful operation to repair a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone) on Saturday, His Excellency is now receiving physiotherapy and mobilising quite well on crutches,” the medical director Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi said in a statement.
“The aim of this stage of treatment is to reduce weight-bearing on his right leg while promoting healing and rehabilitation towards his usual active state.”
Osinbajo has been receiving praises for declaring the state of his health and opting for treatment locally, actions which are foreign to Nigerian politicians.
