Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has threatened to sue Google over a seeming defamatory video against him published on YouTube.
The report published on September 20 by Roots TV Nigeria alleged that Prof. Osinbajo used federal agencies under his supervision as vice president “to stack funds” for 2023 general elections.

A man described as a political analyst, Katch Ononuju, made the allegation in the report.
Osinbajo’s lawyers in a letter delivered to Google office in Lagos described the report as untrue and defamatory.
“The publication is undoubtedly a barefaced attempt to unfairly discredit and expose our client to contempt and ridicule in the eyes of right-thinking members of the society,” the lawyers said.
Osinbajo has demanded the immediate removal or suspension of the publication, threatening to open legal action against the company.

The Vice President has come under a barrage of allegations in recent times, one of which was made by a former spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, alleging that he mismanaged N90 billion given to him by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for the 2019 elections.
Osinbajo had on Wednesday vowed to waive his immunity to clear his name of all allegations.
