Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and wife Dolapo have visited the bereaved Akeredolu family.
Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023 from prostate cancer.
Prof Osinbajo signed the condolence register at the Ibadan residence of the Akeredolu family.
“Dolly and I were in Ibadan with our friends the Akeredolus, to condole with them on the passing of our dear brother and friend Aketi, many anecdotes about his incredible life and times!” he captioned the photos from the visit shared on Sunday via social media.

“We prayed that the Lord will comfort and strengthen the family and bless his memory and legacies.”
Aged 67, Akeredolu returned to Nigeria in September 2023 following a three-month medical leave in Germany. He stayed in Ibadan, Oyo State capital and governed his state from there, leading to public outrage and political crisis in Ondo which almost led to the impeachment of his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
However, on December 12, 2023 his chief press secretary Richard Olatunde announced the governor was embarking on another medical trip to Germany, signaling his health was deteriorating.
Akeredolu’s body was brought into the country on January 5, 2024, from Germany where he passed away.
Among those who received the body were his widow Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, children, and siblings led by his immediate younger brother Prof. Wole Akeredolu.
