Oba of Benin Ewuare II says the co-contestants of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for the office of the president are intimidated by his credentials.
The monarch stated this on Thursday in his palace when Osinbajo paid a courtesy call to inform him of his intention to run for president.
According to Oba Ewuare II, “Your Excellency, we have heard the reasons why you’re here today. We don’t have to overflog your credentials; they speak for themselves anywhere. I always admire your eloquence.”
Continuing, the Oba said, “No doubt, your credentials; since you have come out to run for this great office, I think you are going to give a lot of problems to all the other contestants.
“There is no gainsaying that they are all probably shivering where they are because of your credentials; coupled with your calmness, your humility and great respect for culture and being a true man of God, who has the fear of God in his heart.”
The Vice President engaged with delegates and stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin, Edo State; and in Asaba, Delta State.
Osinbajo also paid courtesy call to the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien.
He said that giving his best in dedicated service to Nigeria’s progress and development is the utmost motivation to run for president.
“With the cooperation of everyone who is here, we can actually do things that will transform this nation… we will, indeed, transform this nation. Change involves people, and people placed at a particular area or in a position where they can really make a difference,” Osinbajo said.
