Actress Zainab Bakare has noted that her colleague Osmond Gbadebo died two weeks after celebrating his 45th birthday on May 12.
Osmond’s death was announced on Monday, May 30, by some of his colleagues like Madam Saje, Afeez Owo, Kunle Afod and Zainab Bakare.
Mourning the Yoruba movie star in an Instagram post on Monday, May 30, Zainab said the filmmaker died two weeks after the birth of his daughter and his birthday celebration.
Zainab added that she wanted to celebrate his birthday and the birth of his daughter on Instagram but he asked her not to post the video she had saved.
In the video she posted, Zainab wrote: “OSMOND. OSMOND. OSMOND WHY???? I saved all these videos to celebrate your birthday and your daughter’s birth but you asked me not to post OSMOND WHY DID YOU LEAVE THAT 2WEEKS OLD CHILD?
“Why did you do this to your loved ones? Why did you die?????? MAY!! Your birth Month Your child’s birth month Now Your Death month. Ahhh May God be pleased with your soul This broke me to pieces po.”
Mourning the deceased in the comment section of her post, “Faithia Williams wrote: “OMG so sad.”
Kiitan Bukola wrote: “Osmond with the good heart.”
According to veteran actor Yemi Solade, Osmond battled a terminal ailment for years before he finally died.
Gbadebo was famous for movies such as Ewon Ife, Queen Lateefat, Edunjobi and Hired Killer.
The filmmaker will be buried on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Atan Cemetery in Lagos State, while the service of songs will hold on Friday, June 3 at No 57, Mogaji Street, Ijeshatedo Surulere, Lagos.
