Singer Davido has sparked online reactions after calling out his cousin Dele Adeleke over the latter’s interest to contest against their uncle Ademola Adeleke in the Osun State Gubernatorial election.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday, the singer claimed Adeleke struggle to graduate with a second class lower and has not “succeeded in building one single thing in his life on his own”.
“Wonderful! Me I finished uni with a 2:1. But it’s now cousin dele who struggled to even get a 2:2 that is now forming “intellectual”. Intellectual that has not succeeded in building one single thing in his life on his own. This life ehn! Osun beware of FAKES!” he wrote
As usual, Nigerians took to social media to react to the tweet.
Below are some of the reactions culled from Twitter.
@MelaninOmo wrote: “Your take is flawed though. I love you but this is ridiculous thinking. You are basically trying to say a 2.2 graduate is senseless because you finished with a 2:1 if you are so sure if your intellect stands with an OAU graduate of 2.2 and do a trivial see who passes.”
Replying to her tweet, another user wrote: “Anty try dey calm down. He didn’t say 2.2 is bad. He said the guy struggled to get a 2.2 meaning he got a 2.2 by luck probably. And besides you don’t know what is going on in their family for him to say that. Maybe you should read again and digest what he said. No harm meant thou.”

“It is strategic. Dele supporters will be told to vote for Ademola. Later you will hear DELE SUPPORT DEMOLA,”@Maicho wrote.
“Another angle to this is that Dele coming out to contest is a divide and conquer tactics a certain PDP governor is using to ensure that another aspirant emerge as the party candidate,”@TobiReddington wrote.
“Dele shouldn’t have taken the step because life only centers on davido’s family alone abi? So, d rest of d family should not think about progress again? David thinks he shamed the guy by saying that he graduated with 2:2. Is 2:1 the yardstick for greatness? Ride on Mr. Dele jor!” @Taiwo wrote.
