The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) has said its operations were not impacted by the explosion that occurred on Tuesday at a gas processing plant at Gbarain Ubie, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The company made this known in a statement signed by its general manager on external relations and sustainable development Andy Odeh and made available to QEDNG on Friday.
The explosion at the plant operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria raised concerns about gas export disruptions as the gas plant reportedly feeds NLNG’s export terminal.
Reacting to the concerns, Odeh said, “NLNG is aware of reports of an explosion at a gas processing plant in an upstream facility at Gbarain Ubie, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Tuesday.
“Please note that this does not impact the gas supply to the NLNG plant or our operations.”
