Nollywood actress Stella Damasus is set to thrill her fans in her forthcoming short film Akwuna.
The veteran in a recent interview disclosed that she took up the role because she wanted to try something different after playing the role of a decent housewife for over 25years.
“After being in the industry for over 25 years, always playing the decent, respectable housewife or the damsel in distress, I thought it was time to do something different and push myself beyond the boundaries and expectations that people have set for me.”
“It’s a new chapter in my life, and with newness, comes the boldness and desire to take more risks and challenges in my career and life in general,” she said.
Directed by Nnamdi Kanaga, Akwuna tells the story of a gritty protagonist Ebere, a Nigerian Immigrant who ventures into prostitution following a tragic experience.
The film will also feature American actor Tim Meadows, Kelechi Eke, Nnamdi Kanaga and Sara Rashelle.
