The Catholic Diocese of Ondo says it will conduct mass burial on June 17 for victims of the June 5 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo.
According to the church, no fewer than 40 people died in the attack while many others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Spokesman of the diocese Rev. Fr. Augustine Ikwu said the mass burial would take place at a new cemetery at Emure Road, Owo.
He said, “The mass burial would take place at the new cemetery of the church on Friday in Owo.”
Ikwu maintained that the number of the deceased still remained 40.
Some of the injured victims are still receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center and the St. Louis Catholic Church both in Owo and some private hospitals in the state.
No arrest has been made over the incident.
