Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has called his wife his ‘greatest asset’ as he celebrates her 60th birthday.
The governor, tweeting on Thursday, thanked his wife, Kafayat, for standing by him through the years.
“To my loving wife, happy 60th birthday anniversary to you. Thank you for all you’ve done and will continue to do, and for always standing by me. You’re my greatest asset. I love and cherish you,” said Mr Oyetola.
“It is my prayer that God will continue to strengthen you in the task we have taken on. I wish you many more fulfilling years in good health.”
The governor has also signed the Diseases (Emergency Prevention) Regulations 2020 to enforce the lockdown order as the state’s record of the coronavirus rises to 16.
He said on Thursday: “Relying on the powers conferred on me by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999 (as amended) and other relevant provisions of the State of Osun Public Health Law, I today signed the Diseases (Emergency Prevention) Regulations 2020, to enforce our lockdown order.
“The stay-at-home order is to enable us contain the further spread of COVID-19 in our state. With the signing of this law, anybody who violates the sit-at-home order will upon conviction be sentenced to six-month imprisonment or an option of fine upon conviction.
“I want to assure our people that the state government in conjunction with all concerned authorities is working hard to bring this deadly virus under control. I, therefore, solicit your support and cooperation with the government as we continue to battle this disease.”
