Nigerians on Twitter on Monday celebrated one half of the defunct music group P-Square, Peter Okoye now Mr P, for standing by his wife Lola Omotayo despite allegations she was responsible for the group’s break-up and the continued discord between Peter and Paul Okoye.
They have also compared Peter with Prince Harry who has stood by his wife Meghan Markle despite attacks for renouncing their royal privileges.
Music journalist Joey Akan tweeted: (Mr P) did more than Harry to protect his wife. Fought his family and left them. Quarrelled with his twin. Scattered P-Square, a legacy world-beating successful music group for his wife. But he was still villainized here by men and women. Is he not a Nigerian man?”
Another Twitter user named with the username @Udifredii tweeted: “Really happy Nigerians are encouraging Harry. But it’s weird cos if a Nigerian man supports his wife like this in Nigeria, e go turn to ‘na Jazz’. Everyone will think the man is mad, just like they have painted @PeterPsquare.”
Peter re-tweeted @Udifredii’s tweet, adding “Life.”

Peter wedded Lola in 2013, and four years later P-Square collapsed as a music group after prolonged sibling rivalry.
Paul, who now performs as Rudeboy, in a recent interview with PUNCH, accused Lola of showing him love on social media and wishing him bad privately.
Paul also attacked Lola on November 18, 2020, when she celebrated him and his twin brother Peter on social media on their birthday.
