Telecommunication giant, Globacom, on Thursday released a statement debunking the rumour that it has dropped singing duo, P-Square, as brand ambassadors.
Multiple reports had claimed in February that Glo will not be renewing P-Square’s deal because of an incident that occurred during the grand finale of the Dance With Peter reality show last year.
In the statement, the company revealed that it has not dropped the group or any of its other ambassadors.
“We have not disengaged P-Square or any of our other ambassadors. We are currently in the process of reviewing our contracts with the brand ambassadors,” the statement said.
“We are proud of the role Globacom has played in the rapid upward trajectory of the musical career of these incredibly talented twin brothers. Globacom has also played a similar role in the exposure and economic empowerment of all the Nigerian entertainers, and others from neighbouring countries who worked with us as brand ambassadors,” it added.
Glo who has over 25 brand ambassadors says it “holds its brand ambassadors in the highest esteem and has a dignified procedure of managing its relationships with its brand ambassadors.”
The company also disclosed in the statement, “whenever brand ambassadors are to be engaged or disengaged, we usually follow the due process and dignify them by holding constructive discussions with them.”
P-Square have been signed on as Glo ambassadors since 2010. The company gave the brothers brand new cars as loyalty gifts in 2015.
