Award-winning music superstar, Davido, on Thursday caused extreme disorder as he arrived the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in the Iyana Paja area of Lagos.
The 25-year-old announced on Tuesday that he has decided to serve his fatherland as he has joined the NYSC batch B programme after three years of graduation.
Davido took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that he has gotten to the camp to begin his orientation.
In the picture shared, it can be seen that prospective corp members mobbed the ‘Assurance’ singer’s car as they tried to catch a glimpse of the music star.
“Arriving at camp today,” the Atlanta born singer captioned the post.
After the ‘IF’ singer made his decision to serve public, followers, fans and celebrities alike commended Davido for not using his status as a global star to buy his way into getting an NYSC Certificate.
Reacting to Davido’s NYSC plans, Tonto Dikeh said Davido is planning to rule Nigeria.
“This boy is too smart, it’s scary. He is arranging his future to rule Nigeria in a bit,” she wrote.
Much has been made of Davido’s decision to begin his NYSC as his announcement took many by surprise.
Nigerians took to Twitter to berate the stipend, 19,800, given to corp members at end of each month for the duration of the service year.
Some wondered what use the money will be for the self-proclaimed ‘Omo baba olowo’ (son of a rich man). While others clamored for the increase of the allowance.
