A mystery fire welcomed staff and customers at the Sterling Bank branch in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital to the New Year on Tuesday, according to a report by Premium Times.
No sooner had the bank opened its door on the first day of business for 2017 than the fire started from an inner office.
Customers and staff immediately scampered for the emergency exit.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Fire service officials later cordoned off the area in an effort to put out the fire.
