General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has joined millions around the world in celebrating Valentine’s Day.
The preacher shared a picture of himself and wife Foluke on Instagram on Friday as they kissed each other.
“Lord, please help us as a couple to love You more and more with each passing day in the name of Jesus,” he said leaving out the word ‘Valentine’.
The picture was taken at a surprise book launch masterminded by Pastor Foluke in August 2017, which coincided with their 50th wedding anniversary.
Valentine’s Day has its origin from the Roman Catholic Church. It is also known as Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine.
One of the stories associated with Valentine’s Day is the account of the imprisonment of a Catholic priest named Valentine for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians persecuted under the Roman Empire.
