General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has celebrated his wife, Foluke, who clocked 71 on Saturday.
Adeboye, 77, said in a tweet that it seemed he was the only one who did not know she was a year older, adding that in his eyes she was still ‘stunning and gorgeous’ like the first time he met her.
“To My support system, My sweetheart, My one and only, It seems that everyone knows you turned a year older except me. In my eyes, you are exactly the way that you were when I met you for the first time – stunning and gorgeous. Happy Birthday aya mi @pastorfoluadeboye,” he said.
The pair got married in 1967 shortly after Adeboye completed his first degree in the University of Lagos graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
Their union has produced four children — three boys and a girl.
Adeboye recently came under criticism by a group led in protest by rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, which called for the cleric to talk more on topical issues in the country.
The preacher was, however, defended by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) which urged the protesters to channel their grievances to the government next time.
