Ukraine-based Nigerian pastor Sunday Adelaja and wife Bose are celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary in Ephesus, Turkey.
The clerics will be spending their week in the ancient city.
In a post on Facebook on Thursday, Adelaja expressed excitement at being able to travel for the first time this year due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
“This is especially memorable for us since I’d not been able to travel with the family for the past 12 years of my lawsuit in Ukraine,” he wrote.
Celebrating his wife, the preacher wrote also on Facebook, “WE ARE 26 YEARS TOGETHER! Jade wedding anniversary got its name no accident. Jade is known for its strength, which is difficult to disrupt by any impact. It’s about us – the Lord has united us firmly and forever! Ancient Chinese philosophers compared the properties of jade to the best soulful qualities of a person.”
His wife Bose thanked him for 26 reasons in a Facebook post.
She wrote: “Happy 26th wedding anniversary! More than 26 years ago by the grace and providence of God I fell in love with a man and decided to marry him.
“And today, after more than two decades of marriage, I sincerely thank God for His helping hand and will on our union. I lack words to express all the gratitude to God for crossing our paths and for what He has predicted in our destiny to do many things together.”
“We all know that perfect marriage doesn’t exist. Still, most of my 26 years of marriage experience was kind, and times of storms and hardships only strengthened it and served me well. I’ve received more good than bad from my husband and still get love, faith, motivation, care and more from him,” she added.
Adelaja is the senior pastor of Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations based in Kiev, Ukraine.
