Fuji music stars Wasiu Pasuma and his former protégé, Taye Akande, popularly known as Taye Currency, have reconciled after a long-standing rift.
The duo met in Mecca during the ongoing Umrah 2025 pilgrimage, where they were seen sitting closely and engaging in a discussion in a now-viral video.
Supporters of both musicians have confirmed that the feud has been settled.
Their fallout began last year when Taye Currency accused Pasuma of imitating Obesere’s style in the early days of his career.
He also expressed frustration over the lack of respect he received in the Fuji music industry due to his loyalty to Pasuma.
In October 2024, the Ibadan-born singer publicly rejected the notion that Pasuma was his ‘father’ in the industry, stating that he saw him more as an elder brother.
His remarks sparked backlash from Pasuma’s fans, who criticized him for downplaying their mentor-protégé relationship.
Following the controversy, Taye Currency later clarified his comments, saying his words were misinterpreted.
He apologized to Pasuma and anyone offended by his statements, reaffirming his respect for the Recognition hitmaker.
With their reunion in Mecca, fans are hopeful that the reconciliation will mark a new chapter in their relationship.
