Celebrities like Patience Ozokwo, Hanks Anuku, E-Money, his brother Kcee, Diamond Okechi and others stormed Enugu on Friday for the funeral of actor Junior Pope.
In a video uploaded on social media, Patience could be seen alongside others arriving at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church Ukehe for the funeral mass.
The national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas, actress Uchenna Nnanna, actors Gentle Jack, Steve Eboh and Prince Nwafor were also present at the church service.
After a brief sermon, the officiating priest prayed for the family of the deceased, adding that “the lord gives and the lord taketh.”
At the end of the mass, they proceeded to Junior Pope’s house where his body was finally laid to rest amid tears from family, friends and colleagues.
The venue was surrounded by security operatives, including the police and local vigilante groups who prevented unauthorised persons from taking pictures and making video recordings.
Also present at the burial were Rita Edochie, Chinwo Owoh, Zubby Michael, Queen Wokoma, Ruby Ojiakor and Valentine Anyanwu.
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on the night of April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The 43-year-old alongside four others drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
