The Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos is set to host the service of songs for the late group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Abimbola Ogunbanjo.
Mr Ogunbanjo died in a helicopter crash in Southern California, United States on February 9 alongside the group chief executive officer of Access Holdings Plc Herbert Wigwe and others.
Inviting members of the public to the service of songs on Thursday, the senior pastor of House on the Rock Church Paul Adefarasin wrote on Instagram, “We extend a heartfelt invitation to each one of you to join us today for the service of songs at The Rock Cathedral Lekki by 4:30pm and tomorrow by 9am for the funeral service at the Church of the Nativity, Parkview as we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved Bamofin Abimbola Ogunbanjo. Your presence and support during this time of remembrance will be deeply appreciated.”
His wife Pastor Ifeanyi Adefarasin also wrote on Instagram, “Hello Friends, kindly join us at the Service of Songs And Tributes for my dear brother and friend Bamofin Abimbola Ogunbanjo tomorrow Thursday the 29th of February 2024 as published by the family in the Obsequies poster below.”

On Tuesday, February 27, businessmen and women gathered in Lagos to pay tribute to Ogunbanjo.
The event tagged ‘Afternoon of Tributes and Closing Gong Ceremony’ was organised by NGX and Coronation Group.
Those in attendance included former president of the Nigeria Stock Exchange, Oba Otudeko; chairman of Coronation Group, Aigboje Aig-Imuokhuede; NGX chairman, Umaru Kwairanga; and NGX group GCEO, Temi Popoola.
Aig-Imuokhuede said Ogunbanjo “served the world in a way only few could do.”
