Barely 24 hours after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), announced that Frenchman, Paul Le Guen, will be taking over as Super Eagles coach, reports claim there’s no such agreement between both parties.
Le Guen, 52, was selected on Monday to lead the three-time African champions, replacing Sunday Oliseh who quit in February.
But fresh reports emanating from the camp of the former French international claim the coach has declined the offer – after the NFF failed to meet his terms and conditions.
“Paul Le Guen rejects Nigeria. Frenchman insists the country’s FA (NFF) yet to meet terms & conditions to be coach,” Herve Penot, a reporter for L’ Euipe said on Tuesday.

Chairman NFF Technical Committee, Chris Green, confirmed the current state of things and revealed that they will look elsewhere if the Frenchman insists.
“The announcement made on Monday (by the NFF’s technical committee) was quite clear. Le Guen was offered the job subject to contract terms being agreed,” Green revealed.
“We want a coach who will not just take the Super Eagles to the next level but will develop Nigerian football as a whole and if he does not reside in Nigeria, it may not be feasible.
“We will look at the next door if Le Guen decides not to accept the terms we offered him.
“A lot of top coaches applied to coach Nigeria and even more (who did not officially apply) are desirous of coaching Nigeria.
“The options are open and we want to assure Nigerians that we will contract a coach that will befit the status of one of the best national teams on the African continent.
“We are working assiduously to make Nigerians happy and will not relent till we achieve set objectives.”
The NFF could settle for Salisu Yusuf who was originally drafted to assist Le Guen in the capacity of chief coach.
