Paul Okoye backs Jude Okoye amid EFCC fraud charges

Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has publicly supported his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, following his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on fraud-related charges.

Jude was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, facing allegations of money laundering amounting to N1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59.

He appeared before Justice Alexander Owoeye alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, to answer a seven-count charge.

In response to the legal battle, Paul took to Instagram to show solidarity with Jude, suggesting that someone was behind his brother’s predicament.

He shared a cryptic post that read: “Exactly what he wants. This too, shall pass. Stay strong brother @judeengees.”

His post sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users speculating that he was indirectly referring to his twin brother, Peter Okoye.

One user wrote: “Another angle to make Peter look bad. Oga, go and sit down, it’s called investigation. Just admit it, you both wronged Peter.”

Another added: “This life no balance. God forbid I ever take my own brother to court.”

In August 2024, Peter Okoye had addressed claims that he reported Paul to the EFCC, clarifying that his petition was against Jude and his wife, Ifeoma.

He alleged that the couple had secretly diverted funds from PSquare’s management company, Northside Entertainment, into their separate entity, Northside Music.

Despite confronting Paul about the matter, Peter claimed his twin denied involvement, prompting him to seek legal intervention.
