Brazil football legend, Pele, has been discharged from a Paris hospital after emergency treatments for urinary infection and is headed back to Brazil.
The 78-year-old football great announced this in a statement late on Monday.
“I want to thank you deeply for your positive thoughts and get-well wishes.
“Thanks to the great affection of the medical team at the American hospital of Paris, I am travelling home soon,” part of the statement read.
Brazilian star, Neymar, shared a picture from his visit to Pele in the hospital on Monday.
“Rei 👑 @pele,” he wrote.
Pele was admitted to the American hospital of Paris on Wednesday, April 3.
He had met with France forward, Kylian Mbappe, in a promotional event by Swiss watchmaker, Hublot, on Tuesday in Paris but fell ill late in the night.
Doctors had assured that the scare was not life-threatening.
Pele won the World Cup three times with Brazil’s national team. He has severally been described as the best footballer of all time.
