Nigerian rapper, actor and comedian, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, on Tuesday revealed that he received a letter from the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) for the remittance of his personal income tax for 2017.
The 27-year-old, who performed at the just concluded One Lagos Fiesta, shared an image of the letter addressed to his Bahd Guys Entertainment Limited on Snapchat.
He captioned the image “LIRS won’t let someone even start the year well before sending letter, Na wa o.”
Lawyer turned entertainer, Falz had a very successful 2017.
The year saw him releasing his third studio album titled 27, and hosting his first headline concert, The Falz Experience, at Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
A delighted Falz declared after the concert: “This is my first ever headline show, I am so much excited.”
LIRS serving Falz a tax letter does not come as a surprise giving the crowd that attended the show.
It is also the government’s way of collecting back its share of the fee paid Falz to perform at the One Lagos Fiesta in December.
