Veteran actor Pete Edochie has caused a buzz on social media following his rare appearance in a skit by comedian Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni.
The snippet of the skit, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, quickly went viral, with fans excited about Pete’s performance.
In the skit, Pete plays the role of a suitor seeking to marry Mr Macaroni’s daughter, Motunde.
However, Mr Macaroni disapproves of the marriage, citing the significant age gap.
Pete, known for his wise proverbs, delivered some of his trademark lines, which added humour and depth to the skit.
His closing line, “It can be arranged,” in response to Macaroni’s declaration that the marriage would happen “over his dead body,” drew widespread laughter and admiration online.
Reacting to the skit, a user identified as Captain Arinze wrote, “That last line got me rolling on the floor. This is a masterpiece.”
Another user, Tope Cole commented, “Father of all fathers don speak. It can be arranged o. I don die. Proverbial man.”
User henrie089 added, “‘Macaroni: over my dead body. Edochie: that can be arranged.’ ‘A man who hangs around a woman without saying anything will end up fetching water on the day of the girl’s wedding.’ Wise words from a legend.”
Similarly, another user, itsallweb3 wrote, “Forget Sir Pete Edochie, na legend… I just love the way he talks.”
