Music fans are buzzing as singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has accused his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), of being responsible for their elder brother, Jude Okoye’s, legal troubles.
In a now-viral video, Paul alleged that Peter was the one who put Jude in “prison” and vowed to secure his release.
Recall that Jude was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi over an alleged N1.38 billion fraud.
Speaking in an interview with journalists, Paul insinuated that this was Peter’s plan all along.
“I’m out here to support Jude because I know the truth. Unfortunately, the way they made it look like, he is a fraud and this. Let’s call a spade a spade. Peter is the one putting Jude in prison, and I am here to bring him out.
“Peter is my brother but I’m standing for the truth. The same crime they are accusing him that he did, Peter is guilty, Paul is guilty,” he said while speaking to the press at the courthouse on Friday.
The Okoye brothers have had a history of public fallouts, leading to P-Square’s split in 2017. Their feud was reportedly fueled by internal family disagreements, with Jude often at the center of the controversy.
At the time, Peter accused him of mismanaging their career and insisted he step down as their manager. This led to a bitter separation that lasted years before their reunion in 2021.
Tensions resurfaced in August 2024 when Peter denied reports that he had reported Paul to the EFCC.
Instead, he accused Jude and his wife, Ifeoma, of setting up a secret company, Northside Music and diverting funds from their joint business, Northside Entertainment.
Peter claimed his attempts to resolve the matter privately failed, leaving him with no choice but to involve the authorities. This led to Jude’s arrest and the freezing of his accounts.
The brothers clashed again in November 2024 when Paul accused Peter of releasing ‘Winning,’ a song he claimed to have written for his album.
He alleged that a producer they both worked with had given Peter the song without his consent. Expressing his frustration online, Paul questioned the role of their management and threatened to release the original version of any of his songs that were replicated without his permission.
