Anglican Bishop of Nsukka Rt. Rev. Aloysius Ezeagbo has described his encounter with 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi as a divinely orchestrated event that has brought significant blessings to Faith Nursing College, Nsukka.

Bishop Ezeagbo made the remark on Thursday during Mr Obi’s visit to the institution, where he announced an additional ₦20 million donation to support its infrastructure development.

The bishop recounted how the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Most Rev. Dr. Godfrey Onah first introduced the nursing school project to Obi during a wedding in Enugu. He said that, moved by the vision and its potential to improve healthcare education, Obi pledged his support and has since remained a steadfast benefactor.

The bishop expressed profound gratitude to Obi, highlighting how his initial donation of ₦20 million came at a critical time when the project faced financial challenges. The latest contribution, he said, would enable the college to expand its academic and infrastructural capacity, ensuring the sustained growth of the institution.

Ezeagbo said Obi’s concern for humanity is exceptional, describing him as a courageous leader with a unique passion for education.

Faith Nursing College, the bishop noted, is now better positioned to fulfil its mission of training future healthcare professionals to serve society effectively.

In his remarks, Obi commended the bishop’s vision and dedication to improving access to quality education in the region. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance learning opportunities, particularly in critical sectors like healthcare training.
