Former vice-presidential candidate Peter Obi has dissociated himself from campaign posters being circulated offline and online.
A statement on Thursday by Mr Obi’s media office signed by Valentine Obienyem said the former Anambra State governor was surprised at the development, adding that he feels Nigerians should be pre-occupied with restoring security, eradicating poverty, creating jobs, improving education and health care.
The release said Obi is not in any way connected to, neither has he contracted/authorised anybody or organisation for such campaigns on his behalf.
Obi, according to the release, said the campaign posters are ill-timed as the party is yet to give final directives.
“As a faithful party man,” the release adds, “he will abide by the final position of the party on the issue.”
