Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi on Tuesday paid a visit to singer Paul Okoye aka Rudeboy and his older brother and former manager Jude Okoye.
Rudeboy, who supported Obi’s candidacy in the build-up to the 2023 election, shared photos and video of the visit on Instagram, thanking Obi for it.
“Thank you very much and God bless you sir P.O @peterobigregory #yourexcelency,” he said.
Obi’s visit comes amid trouble within the Okoye family.
Last month, Rudeboy alleged his twin Peter Okoye aka Mr P petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against him and Jude.
However, Mr P responded to the allegations on Monday on social media, saying P-Square, the boy group made up of Paul and himself, was a public brand and so matters about the group cannot but make their way to the public space.
He said Rudeboy takes every opportunity to insult and denigrate him and his family with help from Jude.
He denied reporting Rudeboy to the EFCC. However, he admitted filing complants against Jude.
The singer also disclosed the results of his investigation into a management company called Northside Music, which he discovered was suspiciously similar to the company used for managing P-Square, Northside Entertainment.
According to Mr P, this company was allegedly found to be diverting significant sums of money, with its founders and directors being Jude and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye.
He said he reported Jude to the authorities when Rudeboy denied having knowledge of Northside Music.
Mr P and Rudeboy first fell out in 2017 and pursued solo careers. They reconciled in 2021 and released a two-track EP in 2022.
