Former vice-presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has mourned the ex-chairman of the defunct Sosoliso Airlines, Victor Ikwuemesi.
Mr Obi, in a statement on Wednesday signed by his media adviser, Valentine Obienyem, said Mr Ikwuemesi remained one of the best exemplification of the industry and business acumen of the Igbo man in particular and Nigerians in general.
“He went into the aviation industry at a difficult time and was already a household name before an incident some of us love to forget disrupted his operations,” Obi said.
The former Anambra State governor who remembered the healthy collaboration of the airline and the Government of Anambra State under his administration, described Ikwuemesi as one of those understanding Anambrarians that granted his government generous discounts in their businesses that helped him to reduce the cost of governance by over 50 per cent, which assisted the state under him to save excess money.
Based on the fact that late Ikwuemesi died of coronavirus infection, Obi, while praying for the repose of his soul, encouraged Nigerians to keep to all recommended safety guides against the virus.
