Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 poll Peter Obi has sent his condolences to musician Wizkid over the death of his mother.
Wizkid’s mum died on Friday morning, according to the musician’s manager Sunday Are.
Mr Obi, whose supporters are mostly young people, said on Saturday via X that the loss of a loved one, especially a mother, is painful. He prayed for strength for Wizkid and his family to bear the loss.
“On behalf of the OBIdient family, I sincerely commiserate with Mr Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, (Wizkid), who reportedly lost his beloved mother. The death of a loved one is a very painful experience, more so a beloved mother.
“Dear Wizkid, may God Almighty who called her home grant her eternal rest in His kingdom and grant you and your family the fortitude to bear her irreplaceable loss. God bless you always,” Obi wrote.
