Highlife musician Flavour N’abania, born Chinedu Okoli, has buried his father Benjamin Okoli in Enugu State.
Flavour shared a post on Instagram on Saturday where he is seen welcoming the former governor of Anambra State and also ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi to the venue of the ceremony.
The singer captioned it, “O ruo n’omume. Ka anyi duo odogwu ije.” In English, it means: “The time has come. Let us bid the great man farewell.”
Obi wrote on Instagram, “Today, in Enugu State, I joined the popular Nigerian musician, @2niteFlavour Chinedu Okoli and his family at the funeral celebration of their beloved father, Elder Benjamin Onyemaechi Okoli.
“I condoled with him and his family and prayed to God to give them, and all of us, the fortitude to bear his sad and irreplaceable loss. May God who called Papa home grant him eternal rest and continue to protect, and bless the family always.”
Earlier, Flavour’s wife Sandra Okagbue, a former beauty queen, took to Instagram to pay her respects to her father-in-law.
She wrote, “Today, we gather not in sorrow, but in celebration of the life of a remarkable man who will always be an icon to many. Farewell, my father-in-law, Pa Benjamin Okoli.”
Also present at the funeral was singer Phyno, businessmen Cubana Chief Priest and Obi Cubana, and also Prophet Odumeje.
Flavour announced his father’s death on May 22.
