Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi has arrived in New York, USA for another round of talks with Nigerians.
Mr Obi said in a tweet on Saturday night that he was warmly received by Nigerians at the airport.
“I just arrived John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, USA to a rousing and heartwarming welcome from Nigerians,” said Obi.
The former governor of Anambra State was greeted by leaders of the Nigerian community in New York and presented flowers.
Obi has been touring the US and Canada, holding town hall meetings with Nigerians in diaspora and speaking with the international press. The tour will also take him to Europe.
Meanwhile, in Nigeria, Obi’s supporters marched on the streets of Ibadan, Oyo State capital and Ogun on Saturday to show solidarity.
In photos which have gone viral on social media, the supporters made up mainly of youths are seen carrying the flags of the Labour Party and images of Obi.
The supporters of the former governor have been marching in different parts of the country even before campaigns begin officially.
