Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi has paid a visit to the family of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah in Abuja.
Nabeeha, her five sisters, and their father were kidnapped on January 2. However, their father was released and asked to get N60 million as ransom.
Following the failure to raise the money, the eldest of the children Nabeeha, a 400-level biological science student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), was killed by the kidnappers and the ransom increased to N100 million.
The incident caused outrage on social media.
The other girls, however, regained their freedom in the early hours of Sunday, January 21.

Speaking with the media on the visit, Mr Obi said, “I came to, first of all, condole the family and then to see the young ones in the hospital.”
He called on the Federal Government to increase its efforts in eliminating insecurity.
On Sunday, the police said they have arrested one suspect who confessed to be one of those who kidnapped and killed Nabeeha.
