Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the senior pastor of House on the Rock church Paul Adefarasin at his residence.
Mr Obi visited over the death of Adefarasin’s mother Hilda Adefarasin.
The presidential candidate shared pictures from the visit on Twitter.
He wrote, “Today, I paid a condolence visit to Pastor #pauladefarasin, on the demise of his mother, Mrs Hilda Adefarasin. May God grant her eternal rest, and her family, the fortitude to bear the loss.”
A nurse and women’s rights activist, Mrs Adefarasin (nee Petgrave) died on Sunday, January 5.
The former president of the National Council of Women Societies was aged 98.
Hilda Adefarasin is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband Justice Joseph Adefarasin died on March 28, 1989.
He was the second chief judge of Lagos State (1974 to 1985) and president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 1977 to 1981.
Pastor Adefarasin recently lost his church’s drummer Chris Okafor. Mr Okafor slumped in church and was declared dead later.
