Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi on Friday visited Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike again as he seeks support for his presidential bid.
Obi held a discussion with Wike behind closed doors at the latter’s country home in Obi-Akpor Local Government Area.
The visit comes at a time Wike appears to have isolated himself from the PDP following his seeming inability to force the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, to resign.
Wike and his allies, governors Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom and Okezie Ikpeazu, were not present at the campaign flag off of the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, held on Wednesday in Abuja.
This is the third time Obi is visiting Wike since the former declared his presidential ambition.
Obi last met the outspoken Rivers governor in London. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was part of the meeting.
