Singer Peter Okoye popularly known as Mr P and formerly one-half of the defunct Psquare duo has reacted to a viral video showing a French band performing P-Square’s hit song ‘Testimony’ (Taste the Money) during a state dinner in Paris.
The event hosted on Thursday at the Palais de l’Élysée was part of President Bola Tinubu’s three-day state visit to France aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
The band’s vibrant Afrobeat rendition infused with a French flair received applause from the audience, including Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu who appeared delighted by the cultural exchange.
Sharing the video on Instagram on Friday, Peter captioned it: “Enjoy your weekend! 🫣 #TasteTheMoney,” sparking diverse reactions from fans.
Ugonna Uzohuo wrote, “Since u and ur brother no wan reconcile and give us back Psquare. Make we kukuma d manage this OYIBO SQUARE 😢😂.”
Joy Shaibu added, “In their mind now, they think they nailed the song 😂😂.”
Glory Gaius commented, “E come be like choir ministration for their mouth 😂😂.”
Meanwhile, Peter’s post comes amid ongoing tensions with his brother Paul Okoye also known as Rudeboy.
Paul recently accused Peter of stealing a song titled ‘Winning,’ claiming it was intended for his upcoming album.
Producer Vampire Craze revealed that the track was created in 2022 during the brief P-Square reunion.
The accusation adds another layer to the brothers’ longstanding disputes, which ultimately led to P-Square’s breakup.
